Moscow City Hematology Centre provides out- and inpatient care for 45% of hematological and oncohematological patients residing in Moscow. Today it is located in the newly renovated building # 17 of Botkin Hospital that has all the necessary medical equipment. Modern methods for the diagnosis and monitoring of the therapy are available for our patients. This allows in a semi-outpatient mode to conduct courses of chemotherapy, immune- and target therapy that meet global standards, as well as replacement transfusions of blood components.
BMT Department provides a full range of diagnostics and treatment for patients with hematological neoplasms, focusing on acute leukemia, multiple myeloma and aggressive lymphoproliferative disorders. The main activity of the department is high-dose immunopolychemotherapy and transplantation of autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells.
In addition to the patient rooms, the department has a leucocytopheresis room, cryolaboratory and a cryobank. It concentrates in one place not only the treatment process, but also the mobilization, collection, counting and storage of hematopoietic stem cells. Tight cooperation with Moscow City Hematology Centre and laboratory service of Botkin Hospital allows implementation of most efficient innovative target medication in combination with polychemotherapy at the earliest stages of treatment. This leads to a significant improvement of results of pretransplantation antitumor therapy and the increased rate of remissions, and therefore, the rise of number of the completely recovered oncohematological patients.
The department provides therapy aimed at achieving remission before transplantation. After that, the doctors of the department supervise the patients as long as necessary.
